Based in Cape Town, South Africa, the Graham Gillot Band is a highly enjoyable Contemporary Musical Extravaganza comprising of some of South Africa's top musicians: Graham Gillot, Duncan Combe and Jeane Combe.
Graham's quiet unassuming gentle manner belies the talent of an extraordinary and constantly rising new century Guitar Maestro. Graham accomplished something of a study record by obtaining Grade 8 Classical Guitar with Merit in only 2 years of study through Trinity College, London. In the UK, Graham performed at the Bournemouth Music Festival as well as the International London Meula. Before forming the Graham Gillot Band he performed in various local South African bands.
Besides having a B. Mus majoring in Clarinet from Stellenbosch University, Duncan is a master instrumentalist playing over 8 instruments including banjo, sax, bass, keyboard and guitar. Following in her father's footsteps, Jeane is an accomplished pianist, drummer and percussionist.
Their debut album is fun and unique... a tribute to some of the greatest guitarists of our time, interspersed with a handful of their own compositions... Take a trip down memory lane... climb the Stairway to Heaven, stroll along the Parisienne Walkways, fly on the Little Wing, dance with the Sultans of Swing and listen to how the Guitar Gently Weeps...
Guitar Legends features the music of the world's greatest guitarists of all time: Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Gary Moore, Jimi Page (Led Zepplin), Eric Clapton, The Edge (U2), Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), George Harrison (The Beatles) and the Gypsy Kings. Each song is expertly performed with the greatest attention to detail in order to recreate the unique sound and feel of each of these legendary players.
