Originally released in 2002, Dirt Sense was very much a turning point in Ashton's songwriting career. The songs are more direct and very personal, and thus contain some of Ashton's personal favorites - New Messiah of the Week, Splinters, Down and The Summer The Sun Ignored. Musically the album has a stripped down, minimalist, under-produced, almost "dirty" feel about it. In 2005 Ashton released Dirt Sense - Second Edition - remixed, mastered with a bonus CD featuring his interpretation of Elvis' "Fever" . A "must have" for any true Ashton Nyte /The Awakening collector fan.
